33rd Annual Korean Parade

New York City holds a countless number of annual parades and street festivals each year. The first week in October on a Saturday is always The Korean Day Parade and Festival. This year the parade celebrated the 33rd year of Korean cultural awareness in the New York City Tri-State area.

The parade marches down 6th Ave starting at around 39th St and ends at 32nd St, where a block long festival is held with traditional food vendors, show performances and other cultural activities.

And EAST-WEST was there as well!  Ms Rhi, East-West’s ESL / Korean teacher was generous enough to organize 40 EWSIS students and parents to participate in this annual EWSIS tradition.  Ms. Rhi was accompanied by East-West  ESL teacher, Mr. DeMeo, who kept the school bus active with questions and cheers.  While marching in the parade, the East-West School banner was recognized by many in NYC’s Korean cultural circle. Marching bands, wonderful Korean food, and K-Pop music and dance were enjoyed by all.
