A Message from Ms. Patterson and our Junior NAACP Club: In celebration of Halloween, the Junior NAACP Club is working to organize its Fright Film Festival. The movie screening will take place this Friday, October 31st, after school from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in rooms 404A & 404B. This is a fundraiser to support the club in taking trips, purchasing supplies and organizing more student events and initiatives in school. Our club goals are centered on building a sense of community within the school through fun, inclusive activities, as well as encouraging awareness and commitment to issues concerning social justice and equity. Tickets are being sold for $2 by Ms. Patterson and club members (including Jamilla, Raven and Malaysia) and there will be a concession stand with refreshments available for purchase. Please encourage middle-schoolers (if asked) to take a permission slip outside of room 405D. We appreciate any support that you can offer. Donating to or purchasing from our concession stand, as well as volunteering to help supervise the expected group would be amazing. If there are any questions regarding this event, please email me at: lpatterson@ewsis.org. Thank you for your support.
