Hello from Hangzhou!  We are writing to you to let you know a little bit about what we are doing here in Hangzhou.  We are finishing up our second day here and we're having a great time.

East-West Students and Mrs. Katz at Asia Society with US Ambassador, Gary Locke

As a member of the Hanban-Asia Society Confucius Classroom Network, four East-West students were invited to Asia Society and Museum for a question and answer session with US Ambassador to China, Gary Locke.

Mrs. Katz writes:

This year, as a member of the Confucius Classroom Network, East-West was able to send five students and two teachers, Ms. Seide, our first year English Teacher and Mrs. Katz, our Math Teacher and Programmer, to China for ten days to travel and learn more about Chinese culture and history. The following are excerpts of their experiences:

In recognition of its potential as a model Chinese language program for the U.S., strong local leadership, demonstrated commitment to international exchange and collaboration, and global vision for the future, the East-West School of International Studies has been accepted as a member of the second cohort of schools in the Hanban-Asia Society Confucius Classrooms Network.
