    Good Evening, this is the East-West school of International studies calling with an exciting announcement. This Friday, November 4th is First Friday. Come join your child at school between 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.  Come observe your child, take a peek into our classrooms and see what we are learning.  We will also give you the opportunity to have “Tea and Talk” with our Principal. If have any questions please contact the parent coordinator Ms.Schnall.  Immediately following First Friday, you will have the  opportunity to participate in a workshop with our guidance counselor Ms. Park about Bullying and Child Abuse.   • Financial Aid Workshop for Seniors Only

    12th Grade Parents/Guardians only!

    Parents and Guardians, please join us for our Financial Aid workshop on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016.

    Appointments are available starting at 7:30 AM. If you would like to come in during school hours, which is 7:30 AM-2 PM, please email CWashington@ewsis.org to set up an appointment.

    Kindly note that we will be completing the FAFSA, which your child MUST fill out in order to get a financial aid package from the colleges and universities.

  • PTA November Meeting

    Hello this is East-West school of International Studies PTA calling with a reminder. Our next PTA meeting will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Turkey raffle with all trimmings included. Tickets are $5.00 each. We will also be facilitating a FREE CPR class on November 12th. The first 20 parents to sign up can attend the class. A light breakfast will be served.   • Blue Card Updates

This blue card is used for emergency purposes and is mandated by the department of education. Please note your child will not be able to participate in any after school activities, including clubs and field trips until the blue card I returned.   • Title 1 Annual Meeting

    Good evening. This is an important announcement from your child's school. The East-West School of International Studies would like to invite you to attend our annual Title 1 Parent Meeting on Thursday evening, October 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM in Room 418.  At this meeting, we will take a vote whether to form a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) or to have the PTA oversee the 1% budgeted for Parent Involvement from Title 1 funds.   • October PTA Meeting

    Hello, this is the East-West school of International Studies PTA calling to inform you that our next PTA meeting will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m. All parents and guardians are cordially invited to attend. Parents will have the opportunity to communicate with the school about their students’ progress and school service. We will be collecting dues and will be selling raffle tickets for $3.00 for a bullet blender. The American Cancer Society will be there to discuss their continuous fight against cancer. Our PTA Cancer walk will be on October 16 at 10:00 a.m. in Fresh Meadows.   • Color Wars

    Good Evening, This is the East-West school calling with an exciting announcement. East- West student government is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2016 Color War on Thursday, September 29th.  The event will run the entire school day, so students do not need their book bags, but must carry their ID cards.  Each grade has been assigned a color to wear for the event; some may even wish to apply face paint to show more spirit, of course with parental permission. The day will begin in the auditorium before students are escorted to Kissena Park, located at the corner of Colden and Oak. There, students will participate in a variety of athletic activities. We are asking all students to bring their own lunch and any snacks. They are not allowed to bring their own beverages as our generous PTA has secured a donation of water.  We will return to the school by 2:15 for dismissal.  We look forward to an exciting and spirited day and welcome parents to the field to cheer on the students. Estudiantes de  gobierno de East-West, está orgulloso de anunciar que seremos los anfitriones de la guerra de Color 2016 el jueves, 29 de Septiembre. El evento se ejecutará todo el día. Los estudiantes no necesitan sus maletas, pero deben llevar sus tarjetas de identificación. Cada una de las categorías se le ha asignado un color a desgaste para el evento, y algunos pueden incluso el deseo de aplicar pintura facial para mostrar más espíritu, por supuesto con permiso de los padres. La jornada comenzará en el auditorio antes de que los estudiantes sean escoltados hasta Kissena Park, en la esquina de Colden y Oak. Allí, los estudiantes participarán en una variedad de actividades deportivas. Estamos pidiendo a todos los estudiantes para que lleven su propia comida, y cualquier aperitivo.  Por favor no traigan botellas, el PTA van a donar agua para los estudiantes.  Vamos a volver a la escuela, 2:15 de despido.
