  • Parent-Teacher Conferences 2016

    Hello, this is the East-West School of International Studies calling to remind you that Parent Teacher Conferences will take place Thursday, November 17th, 2016. The session will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. As well as, November 18th, 2016, from 12:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Progress reports will be distributed as well. Students will be dismissed at 11:11 a.m. on Friday. We encourage you to bring your child to the conferences to discuss your child’s progress at school.   • Smile Dental Program

    Good Evening, this is the East-West School of International studies calling. We have GREAT news!  We are partners with the Smile Dental Program to bring a dental clinic into school on November 23, 2016.The children will receive prevention services, exam, cleaning, fluoride, sealants and x-rays if necessary to prevent decay. No need to miss school for dental appointments!

    All you need to do is to sign the permission form that has been sent home and return it TOMORROW. All children are seen, even if they don’t have insurance. In order for your child to be seen you MUST return a signed form. Together we can keep our children healthy, in school and learning! Somos socios con el Programa Sonrisa Dental para llevar una clínica dental a la escuela el 23 de noviembre de 2016. Los niños recibirán servicios de prevención, examen, limpieza, fluoruro, selladores y radiografías si es necesario para prevenir la caries. No hay necesidad de faltar a la escuela para citas dentales!

  • November First Friday

    Good Evening, this is the East-West school of International studies calling with an exciting announcement. This Friday, November 4th is First Friday. Come join your child at school between 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.  Come observe your child, take a peek into our classrooms and see what we are learning.  We will also give you the opportunity to have “Tea and Talk” with our Principal. If have any questions please contact the parent coordinator Ms.Schnall.  Immediately following First Friday, you will have the  opportunity to participate in a workshop with our guidance counselor Ms. Park about Bullying and Child Abuse.   • Financial Aid Workshop for Seniors Only

    12th Grade Parents/Guardians only!

    Parents and Guardians, please join us for our Financial Aid workshop on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016.

    Appointments are available starting at 7:30 AM. If you would like to come in during school hours, which is 7:30 AM-2 PM, please email CWashington@ewsis.org to set up an appointment.

    Kindly note that we will be completing the FAFSA, which your child MUST fill out in order to get a financial aid package from the colleges and universities.

  • PTA November Meeting

    Hello this is East-West school of International Studies PTA calling with a reminder. Our next PTA meeting will be held on Saturday, November 5th at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Turkey raffle with all trimmings included. Tickets are $5.00 each. We will also be facilitating a FREE CPR class on November 12th. The first 20 parents to sign up can attend the class. A light breakfast will be served. This blue card is used for emergency purposes and is mandated by the department of education. Please note your child will not be able to participate in any after school activities, including clubs and field trips until the blue card I returned.   • Title 1 Annual Meeting

    Good evening. This is an important announcement from your child's school. The East-West School of International Studies would like to invite you to attend our annual Title 1 Parent Meeting on Thursday evening, October 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM in Room 418.  At this meeting, we will take a vote whether to form a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) or to have the PTA oversee the 1% budgeted for Parent Involvement from Title 1 funds.   • October PTA Meeting

    Hello, this is the East-West school of International Studies PTA calling to inform you that our next PTA meeting will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 10:00 a.m. All parents and guardians are cordially invited to attend. Parents will have the opportunity to communicate with the school about their students’ progress and school service. We will be collecting dues and will be selling raffle tickets for $3.00 for a bullet blender. The American Cancer Society will be there to discuss their continuous fight against cancer. Our PTA Cancer walk will be on October 16 at 10:00 a.m. in Fresh Meadows.
